Overview
A full landscape and hardscape build is the biggest lever you can pull on a property. It's where grading, drainage, retaining walls, walkways, and planting all come together as one project instead of a string of one-off fixes. Because it touches so much of the yard at once, sequencing matters. We handle grading and drainage first, build out the hardscape (walls, steps, patios) on top of that solid base, then finish with planting, so the parts you see are backed by the parts you don't.
Most of these projects start from a homeowner's own idea, a Pinterest board, or a rough sketch, and end with a single crew carrying it from dirt to finished space. Western Washington's wet season makes sequencing especially important here. A wall or patio poured without proper drainage behind it is a problem waiting for the next rainy winter, which is exactly why we treat drainage as step one, not an afterthought.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a full landscape or hardscape project take?
It depends entirely on scope. A smaller hardscape addition might take a few days, while a full property transformation with grading, walls, and planting can run several weeks. You'll get a realistic timeline as part of your free estimate.
Do I need a permit for a retaining wall or major grading work?
Sometimes, depending on wall height, slope, and your local jurisdiction. We'll flag it during the estimate if your project looks like it crosses that line so there are no surprises later.
Can you build from a design I already have, or do you help design it too?
Both. If you've already got a plan, whether from a designer, an architect, or your own sketch, we can build it. If not, we'll work through the layout with you during the estimate.
Is there a best time of year to start a landscape construction project in Western Washington?
Drier months (roughly late spring through early fall) make grading and hardscape work easier, but with the right drainage plan in place, many projects can move forward outside that window too.
